Security Engineer

As a Security Engineer at Cuarta, you play a vital role in safeguarding the digital fortress of our organisation. Your mission is to fortify our systems, networks, and data from cyber threats and potential breaches, in order to protect our clients from cyberattacks and potential risks. With your expertise in vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, and security protocols, you fearlessly identify and neutralise potential risks. You monitor for any suspicious activity, ensuring our defences stand strong against cyber adversaries. Your proactive approach to security and your ability to develop robust security measures make you a formidable shield, protecting our organisation’s assets and ensuring a safe digital environment for all of our clients.
What You'll Bring to the Team
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, or a related field.
Knowledge of cloud security and identity and access management (IAM) concepts.
Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST, CIS, and ISO.
Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH are a plus!
3-5 years of experience in information security focusing on network security, endpoint security, and security operations.
Strong communication and collaboration abilities, effectively working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Solid grip on security tech, including firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, SIEM, and vulnerability management tools.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of identifying and evaluating security risks and proposing suitable controls.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- As a Security Engineer, your responsibilities are both crucial and diverse:
Develop and implement robust security policies, procedures, and standards to safeguard our IT infrastructure and valuable data.
Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans, proactively identifying and addressing any potential security weaknesses.
Keep a vigilant eye on security logs and alerts, swiftly detecting and responding to security incidents to ensure timely resolution.
Deploy and configure cutting-edge security technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
Collaborate closely with IT teams to seamlessly integrate security controls into systems and applications throughout their development lifecycle.
Be a security visionary! Stay abreast of the latest security threats, trends, and technologies, and make informed recommendations to enhance our security posture.
Articulate security risks and offer recommendations to executive management and stakeholders.
Take charge of incident response and recovery in case of a security breach.
